According to Leonard Koren in his book “ Wabi Sabi
for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers”
“Wabi Sabi is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, or incomplete.”
“It is a beauty of things modest and humble.”
“It is a beauty of things unconventional.”
It is easy to photograph something which is intrinsically beautiful. When I look at many landscape photographs I see a subject which is beautiful but all that the photographer has done is record that beauty without putting anything of them self into the picture.
In this series I photograph things which are past their prime but that still have a beauty which transcends their age or stage of decay.
